In 2001 I graduated from the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy's (AAIMT) 650 hour course with certification in the following types of massage:
- Swedish
- Chair
- Sports
- Myofascial
- Neuromuscular
Following the course, I became Nationally Certified and belong to the American Massage Therapy Association. In order to belong to these two organization, I must earn 50 additional credit hours every four years. This includes six hours of ethics.
This requirement has allowed me to learn Hot Stone Massage and addtional deep tissue and therapeutic techniques to aid in pain relief for:
- Headaches
- Tendonitis
- Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ)
- Back Pain
As well as techniques to aid in the recovery of sprains and strains and to increase range of motion.
